While the GEM Standard (SEMI E30) is tailored to the needs of semiconductor industry, these rules can also be widely applied in PCB manufacturing. As not all specifications are suitable or relevant in this field. SEMI A3 is contains a subset of the GEM standard SEMI E30 and utilizes SECS-II (SEMI E5) messages as well as HSMS (SEMI E37) or SECS-I (SEMI E4) connection protocols. This standard provides the opportunity for fast and easy equipment integration to fab hosts using a common interface.
