While the GEM Standard (SEMI E30) is tailored to the needs of semiconductor industry, these rules can also be widely applied in PCB manufacturing. SEMI A3 is contains a subset of the GEM standard SEMI E30 and utilizes SECS-II (SEMI E5) messages as well as HSMS (SEMI E37) or SECS-I (SEMI E4) connection protocols. This standard provides the opportunity for fast and easy equipment integration to fab hosts using a common interface.
