35 Years of Innovation and Passion for Industrial Software: We Are Celebrating Our Anniversary
In the summer of 1990, eight automation and information engineers in Dresden, Germany, set themselves an ambitious goal. They wanted to improve the industrial automation of vacuum technology systems based on real-time control systems. They were driven by their passion, their know-how, and their belief that software solutions could make production processes more efficient. That was the start of our company, today's Kontron AIS GmbH.
What began with a small team has grown over the decades into a globally successful company with more than 250 employees. We celebrate our anniversary in 2025 and are pleased to have helped so many companies on their journey into the digital future with our solutions and technologies.
A success story growing with our colleagues
Our two managing directors, Dirk Sauer and Michael Jacob, look back on the past with a great team. "35 years – that's an impressive journey. A journey that was made possible thanks to our great colleagues. Our strength has always been our team. Together, we have set and celebrated technological milestones, mastered challenges, and shown time and again that real innovations are created where teamwork, discussions at eye level, and vision come together," says Michael Jacob. Dirk Sauer adds: "One thing has always remained the same: our commitment to being reliable, delivering quality and creating sustainable added value for our customers. This also applies to our software products, which we have continuously developed and expanded over the past few years."
